Position Overview

 

You will have the opportunity to really make a positive impact by supporting the development and streamlining of core business processes, creating scalable and sustainable processes to support Escher’s growth.

You will be responsible for the accounting and recognition of Escher’s intellectual property and associated analysis. Reporting to the Senior Group Financial Accountant, you will provide vital support across our business functions, and be a key point of contact for queries, solving problems and providing solutions. You will have exposure to all entities and locations in the Group, Ireland, USA, UK, South Africa, and Singapore. You will also work closely with senior finance leaders, CFO and the wider Executive Leadership team on core Corporate projects to help drive controls & Company performance

Group Financial Account Escher

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Assisting in the preparing of the monthly management accounts for the group & reporting packages for core entities
  • Assisting with the closure of the month-end ledgers on the ERP system
  • Responsible for the accounting intangible asset and IP recognition process including;
    • Reviewing project statuses in the system and liaising with various departments on project details and updates,
    • Ensuring accurate capture of the project details in the system and working with the responsible departments to resolve any inconsistencies or errors;
    • Compilation of accounting memos supporting the validity of the project and cost recognition as per Escher’s accounting policy
    • Reviewing and updating project statuses within the system to monitor recognition milestones on IA and IP
    • Creation of assets within the system upon recognition and regular review of the IA & IP book for any impairment
  • Making recommendations on the correct accounting treatment for transactions
  • Working cross-functionally to deliver streamlining initiatives for the finance function
  • Assist in internal and external financial audits including the compilation of financial statements
  • Reporting monthly on anomalies and specific aspects to Group Controller & Senior Group Financial Accountant
  • Deliver reporting packages relating to the Subsidiary FSCP to the Senior Group Financial Accountant & presentation to the Group Controller
  • Actively identify opportunities to streamline the workflow process

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Qualified Accountant (CPA / ACA / ACCA)
  • 3+ years of Industry Experience, exposure to software IP is a plus
  • International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) preferred
  • Ability to take ownership & a drive to improve
  • Experience with large ERP’s is essential – NetSuite (Oracle) is preferable
  • Advanced Excel – Essential
