In February 1998, Post and Telekom Austria AG (now Österreichische Post AG)contracted with Escher Group to automate 4,000 postal counters across Austria using the Riposte® technology. At the end of 1998, Austria completed the implementation phase of its countrywide rollout.

In 2002, Post AG announced that it was upgrading to WebRiposte™ to integrate Internet-based applications from partner businesses into their postal counters environment. WebRiposte enables seamless integration of these new applications across the entire system.
