Boston, Mass. - March 20, 2000 - Escher Group Ltd, the world's leading provider of e-commerce solutions to the postal industry, today announced that core staff will speak at the U.S. Postal Service's (USPS) Spring National Postal Forum. The event is being held March 19-22 at Nashville, Tennessee's Opryland Hotel. Escher will participate in a panel session entitled, "The Intelligent Envelope," which will explore the findings of the joint USPS and EMA Foundation study on the future of the intelligent document. Other participants include industry leaders Robert Reisner, USPS vice president for strategic planning; Wayne Wilkerson, USPS manager of postage technology management, Jay Freitas, USPS manager of strategic marketing; and Maynard Benjamin, President of the Envelope Manufacturer's Association.
Escher has established itself as a pioneer in the development of paper-based electronic commerce technologies that bridge the gap between paper communication and electronic commerce. Its inclusion in this event will allow the company to demonstrate Escher's RiposteMark™, the world's first process-color digital postmark to be approved as a form of postage. RiposteMark, a unique indicia solution that maintains backward compatibility with stamps, has recently been approved for use by Singapore Post. The even will allow Escher to highlight RiposteMark's "smart" security suite including the FiberFingerprint™ and the SpectraSeal™ Symbology. The RiposteMark technology suite is Escher's first wave of 'intelligent' document products.
The National Postal Forum was founded in 1968 to assist the USPS in building relationships with and educating mailers in the most effective and efficient use of the products and services offered by the USPS. Held in the spring and fall each year, its meetings bring the USPS together with its customers, suppliers and business partners.
