P & T Luxembourg Selects Escher Group's WebRiposte Essential™
 

Escher Group will provide software and consulting services for
P & T Luxembourg's counter automation initiative

Boston, Mass. - May 20, 2002 - Escher Group Limited, a leading provider of peer-to-peer messaging and data management solutions, today announced that P & T Luxembourg has selected WebRiposte Essential™ to automate the country's post office network. In addition to software, Escher Group will provide consulting services and will offer recommendations based on experience gained from other similar counter automation projects. P & T Luxembourg joins a customer base of 17 postal authorities across four continents.

Built on WebRiposte, the WebRiposte Essential retail product includes a set of application components supporting a range of transactions, from postal to retail. WebRiposte Essential provides a standard and open environment for application development and easily integrates with existing enterprise applications. With WebRiposte Essential, P & T Luxembourg will be able to embrace new business opportunities by quickly developing applications for use at the post office counter and over the Internet.

P & T Luxembourg chose WebRiposte Essential because it is proven within the postal industry and it met its requirements for scalability, flexibility, and security. The organization was also looking for a solution that was based on industry standards in terms of platforms and communication protocols, and WebRiposte Essential emerged as the product of choice. P & T Luxembourg will use WebRiposte Essential to automate all customer-related activities including mail and parcel deliveries, Giro account operations, bill payments, retail, and money orders. Its unique peer-to-peer messaging model enables postal networks of all sizes and in the most remote geographic locations to easily and securely automate such services while gaining support for Internet standards and a full set of XML-messaging and content delivery services.
