Boston, Mass. - September 24, 1999 - Escher Group, provider of the world's leading postal automation software, Riposte, will be demonstrating Escher's 'Intelligent Envelope' technologies at the U.S. Postal Service's (USPS) National Postal Forum. The forum is to be held in Chicago, Ill., from September 26-29. On Monday, September 27, at 10:30 a.m. Escher will take the stage with Norm Lorentz, CTO of the USPS and Maynard Benjamin, president of the Envelope Manufacturers Association (EMA) Foundation for Education and Research, during the plenary session entitled "Postal Service Technology: Mails - an Information Platform." Escher will demonstrate a variety of innovative 'Intelligent Envelope' technologies that are being evaluated for the USPS' Information Platform.

In addition, Escher staff will join Robert Reisner, USPS vice president for strategic planning; Wayne Wilkerson, USPS manager of metering technology management; Jay Freitas, USPS manager of business partners program; and Dan Briley of Hewlett-Packard's Specialty Printing Systems in a panel discussion entitled "Intelligent Envelope- New Technologies for Crafting Smart Mail." This session will commence on Tuesday, September 28, at 10:30 a.m., and will be chaired by Maynard Benjamin of the EMA.

The National Postal Forum was founded in 1968 to assist the USPS in building relationships with and educating mailers in the most effective and efficient use of the products and services offered by the USPS. Held in the spring and fall each year, its meetings bring the USPS together with its customers, suppliers and business partners.
