An Post upgrades to web-based, distributed messaging and content management solution
Ireland's national postal service reinforces commitment to Escher Group's counter automation solution with upgrade to WebRiposte™
Boston, Mass. - May 1, 2003 - An Post will be upgrading its postal solution by acquiring Escher Group's WebRiposte™ for its counter automation system. For An Post, WebRiposte provides a clear migration path toward multi-channel applications. These applications can run seamlessly alongside existing Riposte® applications, but more importantly, they can be deployed beyond counter automation networks into other parts of the enterprise, and even into customer and partner organizations.
WebRiposte is built upon the core-messaging infrastructure that has been deployed in the Riposte product line. With WebRiposte, customers maintain the benefits of a high-volume, fault-tolerant, distributed, transaction-processing platform while gaining support for open standards and a full set of XML-messaging and content delivery services.

An Post has been a customer of Escher Group since 1993, when it implemented Riposte throughout its retail network to automate post offices and link remote branches with central headquarters. It is currently extending its service offerings to include banking, other financial services, and gift vouchers.
