Sponsorship Illustrates Escher Group's commitment to research and development

Boston, Mass. - February 1, 1999 - Escher Group Ltd, developer of Riposte, the world's leading postal automation technology, announced today that it has become a sponsor of the MIT Media Lab. Escher Group Ltd joins with 40 industrial sponsors in the 'Things That Think Consortium', an association of corporate members from Europe, the Americas and the Far East.

The purpose of the 'Things That Think Consortium' (TTT) is to address the future of computation as it is increasingly embedded in things other than computers. Many scientific, engineering, design-oriented, and human-oriented problems revolve around the notion of putting sophisticated computing and communication into everyday artifacts.

"We couldn't be more pleased with this relationship," said a spokesperson for Escher Group. "Technology is changing at an unprecedented rate. Escher's focus is to provide our customers with the vision and the technology to embrace new business opportunities. Our sponsorship of the Media Lab supports our continued commitment to the research, development and delivery of cutting edge technology."
